PM Sets Out Five Priorities for Environmental Protection and SEA Games

PHNOM PENH: Prime Minister Hun Sen has set out five priority tasks to ensure the preservation of the urban environment, good hospitality and warmth for guests who come to visit Cambodia during the upcoming Southeast Asian (SEA) Games.

In a message dated Monday, 27 February 2023, released on the occasion of the 11th National Clean City Day, Prime Minister Hun Sen urged the relevant ministries, institutions, sub-national administrations and the people to continue paying attention to five priority tasks: to continue maintaining peace, security, stability and prosperity; to continue strengthening and promoting public-private partnerships at the national and sub-national levels; to promote the implementation of policy measures in the 2023 Cambodia Campaign; to strengthen partnership in urban development through national and international cooperation; and to inspire the participation of the people to take care of the environment.

"I strongly hope and believe that all stakeholders will continue to cooperate, support and implement the campaigns launched by the Royal Government to support the movement for a clean city, and I wish the National Clean City Day and the Clean City Competition movements to have success forever," said the Prime Minister.

2023 marks the 11th year that Cambodia is celebrating the National Day of Clean Cities under the theme "Clean Cities, Good Hospitality, Cambodian Hosts Provide Warmth".

The Prime Minister has stated that this day helps to attract visitors to Cambodia, and he urges all to give a friendly welcome to both national and international tourists, showing the good character and hospitality of the Cambodian people. This is especially important during the upcoming SEA Games and ASEAN Para Games in May and June.
